DENDRA SPACE is an independent electronic music project founded in 2019 by DJ Erwin Arias-Hervert.
Erwin was born in Mexico City in 1985 and became interested in electronic music in the late 90s when he discovered the music of The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Paul Van Dyk, Faithless & Robert Miles; and soon, he started DJing inspired by DJs like Dave Seaman, Mark Allen, and James Monro, among others.
In parallel to his love for electronic music, Erwin is interested in understanding how the nervous system works and has pursued a career in academia. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Science and is enrolled as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he studies the effects of opioids drugs on synaptic transmission and neural plasticity.
The motivation underlying this project is the necessity of developing a signature sound to stand out not only as a DJ but also as a producer, the sole purpose of DENDRA is to serve as the vehicle to explore the pathway of electronic music creation without constraints imposed by the mainstream genres.
